Duo Ostinato est une rencontre où l’exigence de l’interprétation côtoie la liberté de l’improvisation. Fondée en 2015, cette formation s’est rapidement forgé une belle réputation sur le plan international : concerts en France, Allemagne, Autriche, Italie, Finlande, Hongrie, Slovénie, Japon, Corée du Sud, Chine, Hong Kong, Taïwan, Australie et aux États-unis. Marija Aupy (piano) et Philippe Geiss (saxophone), passionnés de musique de chambre, aiment s’enrichir de la découverte de nouveaux répertoires et du dialogue entre les différents styles musicaux. Un langage « crossover » est élaboré, pas à pas, à travers des œuvres originales et des arrangements de Philippe Geiss.
Duo Ostinato is a collaboration in which the demands of interpretation rub shoulders with the freedom of improvisation. Created in 2015, the group has quickly developed an important reputation internationally, performing in France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Finland, Hungary, Slovenia, Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taïwan, Australia and the USA. Marija Aupy (piano) and Philippe Geiss (saxophone), both passionate about chamber music, enrich their playing by seeking out new repertoires and creating a dialogue between musical styles. Step by step, through original works and arrangements by Philippe Geiss, they have developed a “crossover” language of their own.
